Basics of the scheme

The scheme is a targeted program designed to assist farmers to upgrade the standard of safety on their farms.

Amount of funding available: €12.2 million

Maximum grant rate: 40%

Maximum investment ceiling: €20,000

Maximum grant therefore is: €8,000

Important Dates

First Tranche Application Deadline: 28/11/2014

Second Tranche Application Deadline: 09/01/2015

Work to be completed on farm: 31/08/2015

Payment Claim Lodged with Department 31/08/2015

Yard Lights (min 200W equivalent, either metal halide or LED)

 

Cattle related safety items
Mobile Cattle Crush Unit (min 2.4m long) Mobile cattle penning max of 75 linear metres (in combination with a Cattle Handling unit)
Installation of calving gates Leg hoist / lifter
Mobile cattle weighing scales Head Scoop
Sheep related safety items
Portable Sheep Handling Race with wheels (including footbath) Mobile specialised Sheep spraying equipment (with or without trailer)
Portable Basic Sheep Handling Race Mobile Sheep Weighing Facilities
Mobile Sheep Rollover Crates Mobile Sheep “Batch” Footbaths
