"Pasteurised thermally dried organic based granular fertiliser.."

Quinns have completed five years of Recycling Biofert to Agriculture and have accordingly learned a great deal about the whole process.

Most importantly, Biofert, a pasteurised thermally dried organic based granular fertiliser has proven itself to be a remarkably good soil conditioner and slow release nutrient source.

It has received universal approval from landowners on whose land Biofert has been spread and the types of land used have included tillage, pasture, golf clubs and football pitches.

Unfortunately not all lands are eligible for the spreading of Biofert due to excessive soil heavy metal levels, high P levels, new nitrate directive etc.  The Irish limits for heavy metals eg Cadmium and Nickel are among the lowest in the European Union and if the permissible levels were even raised to 50% of what is presently allowed in the UK or France then practically all the land in Ireland would become compliant for the use of Biofert.

      Biofert and Nitrate Balancer

Many farmers are still wasting money on the overuse of Phosphates and with the continual support of well known agronomist, Mr John Britton, ACE Consultancy, maximum yields have been achieved using only Biofert and Nitrate Balancer.  Nitrate Balancer is similar to C.A.N. with additional trace elements and while the Biofert is also rich in trace elements Quinns have found that the combination of both more successfully addresses nutritional imbalances inherent in all soils.

The benefit of continuous use of Biofert is reflected in soil and leaf analyses and “spun out” tillage land with a maximum yield potential of 3 tonnes per acre is now comfortably yielding up to 5 tonne per acre.

Quinns are continuously lobbying for uniformity in legislation throughout the E.U. for the recycling of Biosolids to Agriculture so that sometime in the future more and more of our customers’ land can benefit from this remarkably good organic fertiliser.
